Note: Deleting a device in SmartThings will remove it from all the Routines, Scenes, or Services it is associated with. We recommend you perform these actions before December 2022, to avoid any loss of features for your device. If you have SmartThings hub connected devices and use custom Groovy Device Type Handlers (DTHs) installed from SmartThings Groovy IDE, you can try the options below to prepare your device for migration. These are generally legacy devices that have not received recent updates or other support from their respective device manufacturers. This will take place over the course of the next few months, but we expect the majority of supported devices to be fully migrated by December 31, 2022, at 00:00 (PST).Ī small number of devices will lose some functionality in the SmartThings app. Starting Octo, at 00:00 (PST), we will begin the process of migrating devices from Groovy DTHs to Edge drivers. As a result of these efforts, most users will experience no change in device features or usage.

We also began evaluating the automatic migration of hub connected devices backed by Groovy DTHs to Edge drivers within select user test groups. Starting earlier this year, we began the process of onboarding specific hub connected device types with Edge drivers instead of Groovy DTHs. We have been working diligently with our partners and user community to migrate devices to our new SmartThings Edge technology. Will there be an impact to my current connected devices? Please read more to see how this transition may affect you.

Be on the lookout for more communications from us and updates here as we continue this transition. We are actively listening to our customers and community of developers to ensure this process is as smooth and easy as possible for you. This transition is to enhance the seamless experience of SmartThings users, however, due to our sunset of legacy technology, some users may experience changes to their use of SmartThings. SmartThings Edge improves the SmartThings experience by moving the processing location of SmartThings hub connected device commands and automations from the cloud to your hub, creating faster and more reliable connections which operate locally within your home. We expect the majority of supported devices to be fully migrated by the shutdown date for Groovy integrations on December 31, 2022, at 00:00 (PST). Starting October 15, 2022, at 00:00 (PST) we will begin the process of transitioning away from the use of our legacy Groovy technology for the general public (see specific dates for Groovy Device Type Handlers and SmartApps below).īeginning October 15, 2022, at 00:00 (PST) we will start migrating devices and SmartApps from legacy Groovy technology to our new technology we call SmartThings Edge, Schema, and more. Over the last few years, we have been making improvements to the SmartThings platform bringing you new features and more robust integrations. With this user that want to keep the older version could select it manually. What is this SmartThings platform transition? Or maybe Smartthings could publish older device handlers as a selection for devices, like a revision selection.

Does anybody have any idea how to get this working again or do I need to buy a new thermostat?

Plus I have a gas log slaved off of the main thermostat that is no longer turning on because of this.Īs far as I understand the device handler for the device is not published. Where is the smart part of Smartthings now? I don’t think to remove a variable/function that was available should be done. Now my automatic keen vents don’t know when to open or close. All this was working so I called support and I was told some changes had to be made to get this thermostat working and this variable was removed. I can force heating on and I see the heating icon on the Honeywell TCC app on my phone, but the state in Smartthings IDE remains idle. My Honeywell TCC 6000 Thermostat in Smartthings is not changing the thermostatOperatingState from idle to heating or any other state.
